The Christmas parade featured the Governors own Marching Band from Austin Peay, local schools, high school bands, churches, organizations and local businesses all deck out for Christmas and spreading holiday cheer. Some of the floats were themed Whosville, Frosty the Snowman, Rockin around the Christmas tree and so many more.

The parade route began on 8th Street on the campus of APSU. From 8th Street, it proceeded to College and then to University and began following the same route as years past going around Public Square, then around the Historic Courthouse and back to Franklin Street.

From Franklin Street, turn onto 8th Street, back onto the Campus.

Young and old alike were delighted by the different floats, lights and bands performing. At the end, it was good old Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus that was really the highlight of the evening. Everyone shouted and was thrilled when Saint Nicholas came by on horse drawn wagon.

“This is one event that I look forward to every year,” stated Betsy Conatser. “I haven’t missed a one since I was little.”

If you missed this year’s Christmas Parade, make sure to mark it on your calendar as a must do for next year.
