Celebrate APSU Homecoming with Alumni Golf Tournament and 5K Run

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Alumni Relations Office plans to welcome back graduates later this month with two special Homecoming events – the 35th Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament and the Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run.

At 8:00am on Friday, October 25th, alumni and the public are invited to participate in the golf tournament at Swan Lake Golf Course. The event, sponsored by Budweiser of Clarksville, costs $60.00 a person, and the fee includes a ditty bag, refreshments on the golf course and lunch.

Door prizes and awards for top finishing teams, putting contest winner and long drive winner will be awarded.

At 8:00am the next morning, October 26th, APSU alumni and friends are invited to participant in the 5K Run through the Austin Peay campus. The USA Track and Field certified course will start and finish at the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill.

Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves by running up the high and windy hill to the alumni center’s antebellum mansion, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Sites. The 5K race is expected to begin a new tradition at APSU, where runners brag, “I conquered Emerald Hill.”

The entry fee includes a t-shirt, goodie bag and refreshments. Participants also have a chance to win door prizes and cash awards.
