Swan Lake Golf Course bunkers get facelift

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The bunkers at Swan Lake Golf Course — one of Clarksville’s most popular golf courses — have received a facelift.

The course’s four bunkers were rebuilt using the industry-leading Better Billy Bunker linerless bunker system, which provides a new drainage structure topped by pristine white championship sand.

Swan Lake Golf Course is an 18-hole, 6,065-yard course near Dunbar Cave State Natural Area.

Cooling at the Cave back, bigger than ever

Dunbar Cave State ParkClarksville, TN – The Friends of Dunbar Cave hosted its annual Cooling at the Cave on Saturday, July 27th, 2019, drawing what some said was the largest crowd ever for the event that takes the citizens of Clarksville more than half-a-century back in time.

Hundreds enjoyed the music of Clarksville’s own Cumberland Winds Jazz Project, under the direction of Mike Ritter. The band set up near the mouth of the cave, from which spills cool air year round. A feature that decades ago made Dunbar Cave the most popular venue in town.

Manna Café Ministries’ 2019 Golf Scramble set for June 1st

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University Athletics department’s Echo Power Engineering Governors Golf Classic fundraiser, presented by Hand Family Companies and the APSU Governors Club, is set for Friday, June 23rd, 2017 at the Clarksville Country Club and Swan Lake Golf Course.

The annual event serves a fundraiser to support student-athletes through scholarships, facility improvements and academic support. Teams can register for the four-player, best-ball scramble for $400.00, with hole sponsorships (which include both course) available for $500.00.

3rd annual School Resource Officer Golf Scramble to be held July 15th, 2016

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – On Friday, July 15th, 2016, the 3rd annual School Resource Officer Golf Scramble will be held on Friday, July 16th, 2016 at the Swan Lake Golf Course. This is a four man scramble with a shotgun start and pre-registration.

The entry fee is $60.00 per player. Entry fee includes Greens Fee, Cart, Lunch, Door Prizes and more. $20.00 for two Mulligans, Skirt and a Throw can be bought the morning of the scramble.

Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park plays host to Cooling at the Cave

Dunbar Cave State Park - Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – Another successful Cooling at the Cave was held Saturday July 26th. As in the old days, everyone gathered around the cave’s entrance to listen to the music and to let the constant cool breeze blowing from the mouth of the cave cool them off. Before air conditioning, locals gathered at the cave to cool off and have fellowship with others.

The entertainment this year was again provided by the extremely popular Cumberland Wind Jazz Project. They played big band music from the 1930′s to 1960′s. Several events goers took to the dance floor and enjoyed themselves greatly.
