Clarksville, TN – Waking up at a new time, making it to class, eating enough breakfast, not eating too much lunch – the life of a college freshman can get a bit daunting. After about 18 years of guidance from parents and teachers, these young men and women now have to grapple with their sudden freedom while plotting out the rest of their lives.
Coca-Cola Bottling Works of Tullahoma, Inc. endows scholarship at APSU

Clarksville, TN – Coca-Cola Bottling Works of Tullahoma, Inc. recently pledged $25,000 to the Austin Peay State University Foundation to establish an endowed scholarship program benefiting APSU students.
The agreement was finalized in July 2018. Coca-Cola will present the University with a check for the endowment during the halftime program of the APSU football game at 6:00pm on September 8th at Fortera Stadium.
APSU Alumni Relations Office hosting several events for 2017 Homecoming

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Alumni Relations Office plans to welcome back graduates later this month with several special Homecoming events.
At 10:00am on Friday, October 20th, 2017 alumni and the public are invited to participate in the 39th Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament at Swan Lake Golf Course.
APSU hosting ribbon-cutting ceremony for new Jenkins Building on October 6th

Clarksville, TN – Last February, the Austin Peay State University Office of University Advancement relocated to 318 College Street, marking the beginning of APSU’s expansion into downtown Clarksville.
At 2:00pm, on Friday, October 6th, 2017 the University will officially celebrate this milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the campus’ new Jenkins Building, home of University Advancement. The ceremony will take place at 416 College Street.
Austin Peay State University hosting CSM Darol Walker Award Ceremony on April 28th

Clarksville, TN – Colonel Rob Salome, garrison commander at Fort Campbell, will visit Austin Peay State University at 8:00am on April 28th to help recognize an outstanding APSU ROTC cadet during the annual CSM Darol Walker Award Ceremony and Breakfast.
Jack B. Turner established the award several years ago in honor of Darol Walker, retired vice president of Jack B. Turner and Associates Inc. in Clarksville and retired command sergeant major in the U.S. Army.
“Red Tie Affair” is the theme for 2015 APSU Homecoming

Austin Peay Inaugural Governors Games crowns winners, celebrates area veterans, military families

Clarksville, TN – The sounds of iron being lifted, feet pounding the track and athletes pushing themselves past their limit filled the air on August 1st, as nearly two-dozen teams converged on the campus of Austin Peay State University for the inaugural Governors Games Powered by CrossFit Clarksville.
While teams of four competed for top honors, the real goal was to honor APSU and the Clarksville community’s military alumni, soldiers and families from Fort Campbell.
APSU hosting third Gov Color Run September 26th

Clarksville, TN – In September 2013, Austin Peay State University hosted its inaugural Gov “Color” Run, a one-mile race around campus through cloudbursts of color.
The event, which continued last year, was originally marketed as a way of bringing together APSU students and community members for an affordable color run.
APSU Military Alumni Chapter endowing scholarship honoring local veteran

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Military Alumni Chapter hosted its second annual scholarship endowment dinner on November 6th as part of the University’s Homecoming Week celebration.
During the event, the chapter honored retired Command Sgt. Maj. Sidney Brown, a Vietnam War veteran and active member of the Clarksville-Montgomery County community.
APSU to host 2nd Gov Color Run September 27th, 2014

Clarksville, TN – Last September, several sane and reasonable Austin Peay State University students closed their eyes and intentionally ran through clouds of non-toxic colored starch.
When they emerged from the haze, their hair was green, their skin was blue and their clothes were covered in splotches of yellow. And, more importantly, almost all of them were smiling.
