The show starts at 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday with matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday starting at 2:00pm.

APSU dance concerts are filled with talent and innovation that will inspire you to dance like no one’s watching. This year’s Fall Dance Concert will have two acts featuring the works of faculty members including Marcus Hayes, Kevin Bradley Loveland Jr., Amos and Rennerfeldt.

The pieces range from whimsically modern to in-your-face contemporary, featuring elements of modern, jazz, ballet and hip-hop.

Sunday’s audience will be treated to a third act featuring the senior BFA capstone projects of Kelly Barrios and Destiny Smith.

Barrios said her project, Headspace, “deals with the idea of wanting to fit in, struggling to accept yourself for who you are and coming to terms with your flaws and learning to embrace them.”

[320left]Smith’s capstone, titled The Game of Life, explores various aspects of childhood games such as joy, fear and competition.

Smith said she “believes that a lot of dancers’ first interaction with dance comes from games we all play as children.” She used that idea as a starting point to create her pieces.

Tickets may be purchased online through the Theatre and Dance Box Office webpage (apsutheatredancetix.com) at the following prices: general admission, $10.00; student/senior/military, $5.00. Tickets purchased at the door with cash will incur a $2.00 service fee.
