APSU theater, dance students secure record number of internships

Clarksville, TN – For the past three months, 18 students from the Austin Peay State University Department of Theatre and Dance have been busy gaining valuable work experience through a variety of internships and summer study opportunities across the country.
This year’s students span rising sophomores to seniors and represent all four concentrations offered through the department.
Traditional Japanese dance to be held at Austin Peay’s Trahern Theatre on October 4th

Clarksville, TN – Famed troupe Global Culture Nasu is making a special trip to Tennessee with a stop at Austin Peay State University.
On Wednesday, October 4th, 2017, Global Culture Nasu will return to Austin Peay’s Trahern Theater for its only public performance on an American college campus. The event is free and open to the public, with the performance beginning at 6:00pm.
“Footloose: The Musical” coming to Austin Peay State University this week

APSU to host evening of traditional Japanese dance on October 5th

The Supreme Court of Japan stood to his south, and only a few blocks away, surrounded by a moat, was the famed Imperial Palace.
APSU Community School of the Arts adds full dance program for Fall 2015 season

Clarksville, TN – Community service is at the heart of Austin Peay State University’s Community School of the Arts (CSA). Over 200 children and adults come each week to the APSU campus to take part in CSA classes and workshops.
With summer nearing its end, the CSA is expanding its offerings for the Fall 2015 season.
APSU’s Watauga Arts Academy looking for high school students interested in the arts

Clarksville, TN – The Watauga Arts Academy, hosted by Austin Peay State University, is a summer program offering high school students the opportunity to participate in a collaborative and creative “think tank” for visual arts, music, dance and theatre.
Watauga is a two-week residential arts camp for students in grades 9-12, with this year’s camp taking place June 14th-27th.
APSU to host ninth annual Spring Dance Concert

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Theatre and Dance and Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts’ ninth annual Spring Dance Concert is returning this month, giving students and faculty the opportunity to present their work to the Clarksville community.
The concert is scheduled for five performances: 7:30pm, Wednesday, February 18th; 7:30pm, Thursday, February 19th; 7:30pm, Friday, February 20th; 7:30pm, Saturday, February 21st; and 2:00pm, Sunday, February 22nd.
