“Footloose: The Musical” coming to Austin Peay State University this week
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Theatre and Dance will present “Footloose: The Musical” at the Trahern Theatre this week.
The performance will highlight the work of students, faculty and staff associated with the musical theatre concentration of the department’s new Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program.
A special matinee performance will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 24th.
Adapted for the stage by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie, and based on Pitchford’s original screenplay, “Footloose” offers an explosive musical experience perfectly suited for the live stage. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing, instituted by a local preacher determined to control the town’s youth.
Tickets for “Footloose” are $10.00 for students/military/seniors and $15.00 for adults.
