Famed Marine Corps General to speak at APSU Military Alumni Dinner on October 25th
Clarksville, TN – In July 1977, a young Austin Peay State University graduate named Ronald Bailey was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Thirty-four years later, in June 2011, that APSU graduate became the first African American commanding general of the 1st Marine Division, the oldest and largest infantry division in the Marine Corps.
At 6:00pm on October 25th, he’ll discuss his distinguished and historic career as keynote speaker for the APSU Military Alumni Chapter Dinner in the Morgan University Center Ballroom.
The event, which costs $20.00 a person, is part of the University’s Homecoming festivities. It is sponsored by the APSU Military Alumni Chapter and the National Alumni Association. Proceeds from the dinner will go toward the APSU Military Alumni Scholarship.
