November 2, 2012 | Print This Post

Planters BankClarksville, TN – Judy Morgan always loved creating art – even from an early age. But it wasn’t until she retired from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System that she finally had time to devote to painting.

The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature Morgan’s work November 1st-December 5th in an exhibit titled, “Artful Expressions.” The exhibit will include 12 watercolor and mixed media pieces.

“Watercolor became my medium of choice,” Morgan says, “because of the transparency and movement of colors.” She enjoys continually learning new techniques and using a variety of materials to create texture. She is currently exploring the different ways of using mixed mediums in her paintings.

Morgan lives in the Sango area and is a proud member of the Clarksville Downtown Artists Co-Op. She is also a member in the Tennessee Watercolor Society. Judy’s work has been hung locally in the Downtown Artists Gallery, Austin Peay State University Strawberry Alley Gallery, Silke’s Restaurant, Ingredients, and in the Factory in Franklin, Tennessee.

Her work has been accepted in juried shows and has won several awards.

The Planters-Hilldale exhibit is open to the public during regular bank hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday, and 8:30am-5:30pm, Friday.

Upcoming exhibits include photographer David Smith in December, photographs by Bob Gandy and watercolors by Jan Williams in January, and paintings by Gail Meyer and photographs by Tony Centonze in February.
