Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan Congratulates Clarksville Transit System

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is congratulating all of the employees of the Clarksville Transit System for their 25th Anniversary.

“CTS does a terrific job in helping thousands of people get to work, school, doctor’s appointments, meetings, shopping, you name it. Over the past 25 years, they have made countless contributions to our community and I want to thank and congratulate Director Jimmy Smith and all the wonderful CTS employees,” Mayor McMillan said.

Mayor McMillan went on to say, “This isn’t just about 25 years of driving people from one place to another. This is 25 years of excellent customer service, the ability to respond to a growing and changing community and providing a safe and economical way for people to get where they need to go.”

CTS will celebrate with a ceremony Friday, June 1st, 2012 at the Transit Center at 1:00pm. The Mayor will attend the celebration and the public is invited and encouraged to attend. Additionally, all bus rides on Friday, June 1st, will cost only 25 cents in honor of CTS’ milestone and everyone can ride the bus for free on every Saturday in June.

The anniversary also coincides with the inaugural trip of the new Clarksville to Nashville commuter service. The first bus will leave from the Rossview Road Park-n-Ride at 5:52am with another leaving at 6:50am.

“I am planning to ride the commuter bus on Monday, June 4th,” said Mayor McMillan. “I’m looking forward to it and believe this is a great opportunity for Clarksvillians who work in Nashville to make the commute more relaxing and less expensive.”
