Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Paralympic Experience set for September 26th

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has teamed up with the Tennessee Association of Blind Athletes and the National Federation of the Blind Paralympic Sport Clarksville to host the Paralympic Experience on Saturday, September 26th at the Heritage Park Softball Complex from 10:00am until 2:00pm.

This event is open to youth and adults at least 8-years-old, including active duty service members and veterans, with physical and visual disabilities, regardless of skill level.

The Paralympic Experience will feature an introduction to many adaptive sporting events. Games will be played recreationally, but will still be scored for a little competitive fun. Activities include Goal Ball, Archery, Beep Kickball, Beep Baseball, Disc Golf, Tandem Cycling and Run/Walk.

Players can enjoy games designed specifically for them and learn more about Paralympic Sport Club Clarksville.

Parents and other family members, as well as other members of the public, are invited to participate and experience all that Paralympic Sport Clarksville has to offer.

U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, and the City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation department partnered in May 2012 to create Paralympic Sport Clarksville. This is just one of many events planned for the future.
