Austin Peay State University history honor society attends regional conference

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Phi Alpha Theta (PAT) History Honor Society put on another strong showing during the PAT Regional Conference at Tennessee Tech last weekend, with four members presenting at the event.

Patrick Toth, PAT president, presented, “Vitis vinifera and Rome: How Wine Helped Forge a Civilization.”

Amanda Lawson presented, “The Good, the Bad, and the Crazy: A Look into Women in the Athenian Tragedy.”

Jennifer Kaiser presented, “Starving for Glory: Food Shortages in the American Civil War.”

Michael Farrell presented, “A Poet’s War: The Events and People that Shaped Siegfried Sassoon’s Post during WWI.”

“The PAT Regional Conference is an outstanding event we look forward to every year,” Dr. Minoa Uffelman, APSU associate professor of history and PAT advisor, said. “Our students present their research papers which will be published in the student journal Theta-Delta.”

More than 100 history scholars and students from across the state attended this year’s conference. APSU will host the regional conference next year.
