Planters Bank Exhibit to display Metal Art in August
Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature metal art from local artist Brent Streeter Thursday, August 1st – Wednesday, September 4th.
Brent Streeter was born and raised in Michigan in the heart of the automotive industry and worked most of his life as a Design Engineer. Brent moved to Clarksville in 2007 with his wife Joyce because they both loved Tennessee and were ready for a new adventure.
Brent combines natural artistic abilities with highly developed skills in design and engineering, which results in a variety of unique metal art pieces.
Brent’s collection includes anything from wall hangings of all sizes, fireplace screens, life-size metal statues that move in the wind, eight-foot dinosaurs to custom fire pits and signs.
On display at Planters will be trees and other outdoor-themed pieces, along with music pieces. All art will be for sale with prices ranging from $45.00-$200.00.
Brent enjoys taking ideas and visions of others and bringing them to life with a three-dimensional image. Next, he writes a program for the plasma cutter to cut the metal to the exact dimensions he needs. He works the metal using many different tools depending on what he wants the finished product to look like.
Brent finishes some pieces with paint and some by creating a chemical reaction on the surface of the metal. One process actually causes the metal to rust and Brent stops that reaction and seals the metal when he gets the color he is looking for.
Brent’s work can also be seen at Saturday Downtown Market’s, Miss Lucille’s Marketplace and on his website at www.metalconceptsdesign.com.
The Planters-Hilldale branch is located at 1971 Madison Street. The exhibit rotates the First Thursday of each month and is open to the public during regular bank hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday, and 8:30am-5:30pm, Friday.
