Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hiring Athletic Assistant

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the Athletic Assistant position. The Athletic Assistant will assist in planning, organizing and facilitating comprehensive sport programs for youth and adults.

Qualifications for the Athletic Assistant are as follows:

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a 2 year degree in recreation, physical education or related field. Experience may be considered as substitute for education.
• Background or participation and administration of a wide variety of athletic activities with a minimum of 1 year experience in organizing leagues and tournaments.
• An understanding of sport psychology and the ability to work toward a program and provide opportunities for all ages and genders in a variety of sports activities.
• Ability to work well with public officials and the public in general to solve problems and facilitate wholesome, safe league activities.
• Ability to perform necessary paperwork, i.e., practice schedules, league schedules, tournament brackets.
• Possession of the required driver’s license.

This is a part-time position. Compensation is $12.00 per hour/1500 hours.
