Customs House Museum to hold Open House Saturday to celebrate reopening of the 1898 Building

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, April 28th, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center reopens the 1898 building after months of renovation with an Open House event! All galleries, including the Explorer’s Gallery, will be accessible. Everyone is invited to come out and see the changes.

Admission will be free all day from 10:00am–5:00pm The F&M FunMobile will make an appearance from 11:00am–1:00pm to serve complimentary refreshments (supplies are limited). The Model Trains will also be running from 10:00am–2:00pm.

Enjoy the renovated 1898 Customs House Museum structure, including the restored and open spaces of Heritage Hall.

Sidewalk repairs in front of the Museum should be complete by Friday.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the new floor space and exhibits and observe the restored architectural details in Heritage Hall. New exhibits will include Celebrating 1898, Civil War Medicine, and Recent Acquisitions: Highlighting Items from the Collection.

About the Customs House Museum

Located at the corner of Second and Commerce Streets, the Customs House Museum is the second largest general museum in Tennessee. Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays. Adult admission is $7.00, Sr. Citizens and College ID $5.00, Ages 6 to 18 $3.00, and under six is free.
