Clarksville Academy’s Tyler Phillips signs with Trevecca University

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy, a Pre-K through 12th grade private college preparatory school, is pleased to announce the signing of Tyler Phillips to Trevecca University in Nashville, TN. Tyler has played golf at CA for the past 4 years.

Head of Schools Kay Drew, “There is never a moment I am more proud of my students then when they accomplish their goals. Tyler’s hard work and determination both on and off the athletic field has gotten him to this place.”

Tyler has been a leader on the Clarksville Academy golf team throughout his career, but has really shined his last two seasons.

He qualified for the Regional tournament both his Junior and Senior years. Tyler’s 9 hole season average was a 35.7. He has competed in many tournaments outside of CA golf and had many wins. His most notable win was the Junior Club Championship at the Clarksville Country Club this fall.

He also placed 2nd in the All American Junior Golf Tour Governors Invitational in Franklin. He tied for 4th in the United States Junior Golf Tour at Two Rivers Golf Course in Nashville and finished 5th in the Clarksville City Amateur as well as had a top ten finish in the Commanding Generals Tournament.

Coach Jake Peterson is proud of Tyler’s accomplishments, “Tyler has proven himself as a tough competitor in golf and will be a true asset to Trevecca’s program.”

Tyler is the son of Steve & Sheri Phillips of Clarksville & the grandson of Jim and Ann Phillips and Jimmy and Donna Young & the great grandson of Myrtle Greene.
