CTS Spooky Special ready to roll again
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) Spooky Special is back for another Spooky Clarksville tour.
The Halloween-adorned bus will run the streets of Clarksville, offering free rides on Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st, 2020.
The Spooky Special, or Spooky Bus as some call it, is a Clarksville Transit System Halloween tradition that started 29 years ago to help residents get acquainted with the local public transportation service and to thank consistent passengers.
APSU names 2020 Alumni Award Winners

Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett appoints Skip Burchett as New IT Director

Montgomery County, TN – Skip Burchett has been appointed as the new Montgomery County Director of Information Technology, effective July 2nd, 2020. Burchett will be replacing Kurt Bryant who will be retiring on July 1st. Bryant has been serving as the County IT Director since May 2011.
Burchett has worked as a senior network administrator for Montgomery County Government since July 2013.
Austin Peay State University helps Clarksville Academy High School with Coding Camp

“Each year, we bring a favorite Christmas story to life for our Pre-K – 5th grade students,” Allen said. “This year, we will use the book Frosty the Snowman. Our library will be transformed into the magical world of Frosty, and it’s sure to be a hit with our students.”

The 2019 honorees are Outstanding Service Award recipients Dee Boaz and Shan Smith (’78); Outstanding Young Alumni Award recipients Catie Clinard (’11) and Bryan Johnson (’04); and Outstanding Alumni Award recipients Khandra Smalley (’05) and Richard Bibb (’65).

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation will celebrate the third anniversary of Clarksville’s popular bike share program, Clarksville BCycle, with free bike rides. Third-year milestones include 9,600 trips that covered almost 65,000 miles and allowed riders to burn 2.5 million calories.
Residents are invited to use the promo code “1320” when checking out a bike from one of Clarksville BCycle’s five stations from January 13th-20th to receive a free 60-minute bike ride. Usage fees apply after the first hour.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces large outdoor fitness center now open at McGregor Park

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces that the McGregor Park North Extension Trailhead is now home to the largest outdoor fitness center in Clarksville, thanks to a group of Clarksville Academy students and a grant from the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation.
Students in Clarksville Academy’s Challenge Based Learning program wrote the fitness center grant request, which was approved by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation.

Clarksville, TN – Several people come together to sponsor the return of the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink.
On Wednesday, November 21st, 2018 Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink sponsors gathered to unveil new elements of the ice-skating operations.
In addition to the ice rink being 49% larger than last year, F&M Bank returns as the Winter Ice Rink Title Sponsor with a custom mural wall that was painted by Clarksville Academy students.
“The F&M Bank mural wall is a great place for people to take pictures that will commemorate their time on the ice,” stated Paula Atkins Downtown Commons Event Manager.
