Indoor Aquatic Center offers Instructional & Fitness Swimming for Pre-Competitive Swimming

Clarksville, TN – Are you or your children interested in competitive swimming or maybe just furthering swimming skills? The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department offers an Instructional and Fitness Swimming course at the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane. The first session begins October 22nd.

Instructional & Fitness Swimming is an instructional and exercise program that develops health, fitness and swimming skills for both children and adults.

Instruction consists of the fundamentals of competitive swimming, including stroke instruction, starts and turns. Students will increase endurance and strength in an enjoyable and confidence building environment.

To enroll in Instructional & Fitness Swimming, each child and/or adult must be deep-water safe and able to swim 25 yards of unassisted freestyle with side breathing and backstroke; legal breaststroke kick and butterfly kick.

Instructional & Fitness Swimming classes are available on Mondays and Thursdays as well as an additional set of classes on Saturdays and are open to age groups 5-8, 9-12, 13-16 and adult (17 & up). Cost for Monday/Thursday sessions is $100.00 for pool pass holders and $145.00 for non-pass holders. Cost for Saturday sessions is $85.00 for pool pass holders and $130.00 for non-pass holders.
