Community Centers’ Hours to Change for Fall Break

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s three community centers will adjust their hours of operation for CMCSS Fall Break. From October 11th-15th, the community centers will be open from 10:00am to 7:00pm.

Nothing to do this Fall Break? Head over to any of our three community centers for some FUN! Crow Community Center located at 211 Richview Road will begin offering two archery classes for youth grades 4-12. A beginner class will be held from 4:00pm-5:00pm and an advanced class will be from 5:00pm-6:00pm. The four week session will begin October 7th and the cost is $10.00 per student.

Step your way to healthy! Join others at Burt Cobb Community Center located at 1011 Franklin Street, every Tuesday from 4:30pm-5:30pm to learn step routines and to showcase your skills. The cost of the class is free, but a community center I.D. card is required. I.D. Cards can be purchased for $5.00 and are valid for one year at all three community centers.

The Kleeman Community Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will begin offering two photography classes that will meet every Wednesday, starting October 13th. Learn how to get the photos you want from your digital point and shoot or digital SLR camera! The classes for digital point and shoot cameras will be held from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Students will learn photo fundamentals, how to best use settings on their camera, and picture composition. You will also learn how to get photos from the camera card to photo prints.

The classes for digital SLR camera users will be held from 7:00pm-8:00pm and students will learn to maneuver through the camera menu and settings first. Then they will move on to basic exposure, white balance, ISO, aperture and shutter speed. This class will also explore photo composition and shooting styles. Each four week session is open to all skill levels and the cost for each series of classes is $40.00.
