CMCSS announces Assistant Principals

The following assistant principal appointments are being announced for the 2010-11 school year

Moore Magnet Assistant Principal Madeline Haller will be at Minglewood Elementary, replacing Kim Smith, who has been named principal at Moore Magnet Elementary School.

Haller joined CMCSS in September when Emily Vaughn was named principal at Sango Elementary. Previously, Haller served as principal of Barkley Elementary at Fort Campbell. Haller holds an M.S. in administration and supervision from Austin Peay State University and a B.S. In biology from Arizona State University. Among her honors, she was selected Kentucky District Assistant Principal of the Year in 2004, and she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Master’s program at Austin Peay.

The Moore Magnet assistant principalship will be filled by Nathan Lang, formerly an education supervisor for NASA in Houston, Texas. Lang earned his master’s in education from Houston Victoria College and a bachelor’s degree from Harding University in Searcy, Ark. He most recently has managed the NASA Distance Learning team and education outreach team, equipping educators with the tools to motivate students to pursue math and science. He also has served as a teacher in Pearland and Houston, Texas in the areas of chemistry, physics and environmental science.

Sherry Baker will be assistant principal at East Montgomery Elementary, replacing Chris Tabb who will be a teacher at Barkers Mill. Baker has served as a teacher at East Montgomery. She graduated from Bethel College with a B.S. Degree and an M.A. from Austin Peay State University.

Patti Koloski will be assistant principal at Glenellen Elementary, replacing Tammy Messmer who will be a teacher at Barksdale Elementary. Koloski has served as an academic coach at Liberty and Norman Smith Elementary Schools. She has been with the system since 1997, previously as a classroom teacher. She earned her B.S. From the University of South Florida with a B.S. in elementary education and a master’s program in teaching and learning from NOVA Southeastern University.

An assistant principalship is open at Clarksville High with Mike Gibson’s decision to return to the classroom as a Human Health and Performance teacher at Minglewood Elementary.
