Clarksville, TN – In recent weeks, the U.S. stock market has reacted negatively to bad economic news out of Japan, China, and the euro area and positively to efforts by the corresponding central banks to spur growth. The European Central Bank did not make that extra effort on Thursday.
After strong hints that quantitative easing is on the way, the ECB’s Governing Council disappointed by failing to launch QE. ECB President Draghi indicated that further extraordinary measures could be employed “if needed.” The ECB staff and euro systems have stepped up technical preparations for QE, but Draghi seemed to suggest that there is no haste toward QE.
Manna Café Hosts Thanksgiving Day Dinner

These books have been a childhood favorite for generations of little girls. As the Roxy regional Theatre’s first release for the show states Louisa May Alcott’s acclaimed story of love and family stands the test of time.
The Musical brings together the best from the books along with the talented cast of actresses and actors put together by the Roxy. The cast is outstanding the cast is simply outstanding!
Little Women: The Musical to Premier at the Roxy Regional Theatre on November 7th

Clarksville, TN – Originally published at the turn of the nineteenth century, Louisa May Alcott’s acclaimed story of love and family stands the test of time. This fall, the Roxy Regional Theatre presents a new version of this enduring American classic with “Little Women: The Musical”, November 7th – November 29th.
Based on Alcott’s own life and originally starring Sutton Foster and Maureen McGovern in the Broadway production, “Little Women” follows the adventures of sisters Jo (Allie McCaw), Meg (Elena Pascullo), Beth (Laura Donnelly) and Amy March (Corinne Bupp) and their experiences growing up in Civil War America.

The first Thanksgiving feasts, we are told, were shared between the colonists and the Native Americans who had helped them survive. Indeed, those early celebrations recognized, at least in part, that without the natives, the settlers may not have survived.

Small Business Saturday, originally conceived in 2010 by American Express, encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local. Clarksville’s American Red Cross Offers Thanksgiving Cooking and Travel Tips

Clarksville, TN – Millions of Americans will be preparing meals and traveling throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The American Red Cross has safety tips for the kitchen and for the highway.
“More home cooking fires occur on Thanksgiving than on any other day of the year,” said Julie Campos, Chapter Executive, Two Rivers Chapter. “The week of Thanksgiving is also one of the busiest travel periods. We want people to arrive at their destinations, enjoy time with their loved ones and make it home safely.”
