Cops on Ice set for January 3rd

Clarksville, TN – On Friday, January 3rd, 2020, Cops on Ice will be held at the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville.
Come out from 6:00pm-9:00pm and skate with our Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Austin Peay Police Department.
Ticket prices are $10.00 for children 12 and under. Adult tickets are $12.00 and Government employees / APSU ID tickets are $10.00.
Downtown Commons Ice Rink to host Mayor vs. General Third Annual Broomball Game, January 15th

Montgomery County, TN – On January 15th, 2020, the public is invited to attend the second annual Broomball match between Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and U.S. Army Fort Campbell to a backyard broomball game at 6:00pm-7:00pm at the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink.
Broomball is a variation of ice hockey played on ice without skates and with brooms and a ball instead of sticks and a puck. Running around in shoes on ice while trying to “sweep” a ball into a goal presents a unique challenge that includes a lot of slipping, sliding and falling.
Clarksville Downtown Transit Center reopens

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System (CTS) has reopened its downtown Transit Center on Legion Street after an eight-month renovation project was completed last week.
Paul Nelson, Clarksville Transit System Director, said CTS will host a reopening celebration from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Friday, December 20th, 2019. CTS officials will be on hand to greet the public, offer snacks and soft drinks and CTS merchandise.

The renovated Clarksville Downtown Transit Center has a new, wider walkway and newly paved bus lanes.

Paint a Bowl with Arts for Hearts Clarksville at Downtown Commons

Clarksville, TN – October is designated as “Tackling Hunger Month”. Arts for Hearts Arts Clarksville will host an Empty Bowls painting event to bring awareness to hunger in our community. Come paint a bowl and lend your creative hands and hearts on October 3rd, 2019 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Downtown Commons, 215 Legion Street, Clarksville.
A limited number of handmade bowls will be available to paint and decorate.

Pillars of Hope 9/11 commemorative art exhibit to be held at Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library, September 4th-23rd

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County has a personal and profound connection to September 11th with many military heroes and families calling Clarksville their home.
So it is no surprise that almost 2000 tiles have been hand painted by Clarksville-Montgomery County residents as part of the Pillars of Hope: Remembering our Heroes through Art and Reflection since late 2012. A project dedicated to the memory of the September 11th attacks on our nation that honors and remembers those who serve our country.

USO Show Troupe opens Downtown @ Sundown at Downtown Commons, Friday

Montgomery County, TN – The next Downtown @ Sundown Concert is this Friday, July 19th, 2019. The USO has partnered with Downtown Commons for a spectacular event.
The USO Show Troupe will open the night at 7:00pm with an arrangement of classic Americana songs. Country acoustic artist, Andrea Guess jumps on at 8:00pm with the USO Show Troupe returning around 9:00pm to rock out the night with some upbeat jams.
Mic Check Monday to feature Angelia Williams July 15th

Clarksville, TN – On July 15th, 2019, the Mic Check Monday concert series will feature Soul, R&B, county/rock, and dance sessions at the Downtown Commons.
Opening the event at 6:00pm is Corey Michael Bryant, a country/rock/blues musician. Corey plays at the River Club on Friday evenings.
