APSU to hold Tennessee Business Tax Seminar July 17th
Clarksville, TN – In cooperation with the Tennessee Department of Revenue, Austin Peay State University’s Center for Extended and Distance Education will hold the annual Tennessee Business Tax seminar from 8:00am to 5:00pm on Tuesday, July 17th.
The seminar will be held in the Morgan University Center. Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Revenue, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury will facilitate sessions related to business taxes. Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne Division gears up for Week of the Eagles 2012
Fort Campbell, KY – “The 101st Airborne Division […] has no history, but it has a rendezvous with destiny,” Maj. Gen. William C. Lee told troops during an address August 19th, 1942. Since that historic day at Camp Claiborne, LA, the Screaming Eagles have had many a rendezvous with destiny, and this year the storied division and the Fort Campbell community will mark the 70th anniversary of the unit’s inception during the 2012 Week of the Eagles: A history of valor.
“Week of the Eagles is a time for 101st soldiers of the past and present to come together and reflect on the great legacy of the 101st Airborne Division,” said Maj. Gen. James C. McConville, commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). “This year is particularly significant because it coincides with the 70th anniversary of the division. We invite all soldiers, families and friends to participate and experience Week of the Eagles 2012.”

APSU’s Dunn Center floor receiving extreme makeover
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center floor is getting more than a facelift.
After seeing part of the floor twice replaced in the past decade, a whole new surface will be in place when the 2012 Austin Peay State University volleyball season opens this fall–call it Extreme Makeover APSU style.
After 13 graduations, including 11 from the local high schools, were concluded in late May, the floor project began with the removal of the entire existing floor in Dave Aaron Arena, to be replaced by a state-of-the-art PermaFlex flooring system. «Read the rest of this article»

The 99th Meeting
Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, June 20th at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Hospital. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall. The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan introduces Summer Night Lights Program
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, in conjunction with the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Clarksville Police Department, is introducing a new program for youth and their families. Summer Night Lights is an eight week program, which will run from June 14th through August 3rd on Thursday and Friday nights.
The program will take place at two locations. On Thursdays, the event will be held at the Kleeman Community Center, 166 Cunningham Lane, from 6:00pm–9:30pm.
