Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council Hosts Successful Community Tour Event
Clarksville, TN – In early June, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council (EDC) hosted a two-day ‘Red Carpet Community Tour’ event for site selection consultants and brokers to gain first-hand knowledge of the assets that Clarksville-Montgomery County and the surrounding area have to offer.

Austin Peay State University to offer Safe School Initiative Threat Training

Dunbar Cave State Natural Area Programs for June 17th through June 23rd
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer.

Clarksville, TN – Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation at dusk on Saturday, June 16th at Heritage Park soccer fields for the viewing of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”- rated PG. Clarksville Academy takes the Next Step in Technology
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy, a Pre-K through 12th grade private college preparatory school is excited to announce that all of its 6th-8th grade students will receive the iPad 3 when school begins in the fall. This is the second phase in the 1:1 program launched last fall. Currently all 9th-12th grade students have a MacBook that is used in all their classes. The addition of iPads to the Intermediate School only enhances the technological experience at CA.
Upper School students will go into their second year of using the MacBook in their classrooms. Last year’s students loved this experience and found it helped to better prepare them for what lies ahead in college.

Clarksville Citizens Police Academy Alumni to host Pancake Breakfast July 28th
Clarksville, TN – The Citizens Police Academy Alumni will host a Pancake Breakfast at Applebee’s on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. on July 28th from 7:30am to 9:30am. Tickets are $5.00 for pancakes, sausage, and drink.
Please come out and help us raise money for the New Bicycle Patrol, that allows Officers to patrol on a more intimate level.

Planters Bank’s Kyle Luther Graduates from Louisiana State University Banking School
Clarksville, TN – Planters Bank Vice President of Commercial Banking Kyle D. Luther was among the 160 graduates on June 1st, 2012 of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
The three-year program provides courses in all aspects of banking, economics and related subjects. Students traveled from 20 states and Mexico to participate in the session.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Summer Youth Program under way and Filling up Quickly
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Youth Program is under way and openings at the various sites are filling up quickly!
The Crow Community Center, Summit Heights, Minglewood Elementary School, Hazelwood Elementary School, West Creek Elementary School, locations are available for more registration, as well as two of the teen-specific sites at New Providence Middle School and Moore Elementary School.

“March to the Past” to be held June 23rd by Friends of Fort Defiance
Clarksville, TN – The Friends of Fort Defiance, including Porter’s Battery and Baxter’s Battery, will hold their “March to the Past” fundraising event at Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center on June 23rd from 10:00am-5:00pm.
Activities will include living history demonstrations such as quilting, Civil War medicine and clothing, rolling rifle cartridges, games for children, and firing demonstrations.
The Friends will be selling hot dogs and baked goods to support Fort Defiance.
