Clarksville Homes being Rebuilt and Restored
Clarksville, TN – On June 22nd, the Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development, along with Clarksville Mayor Pro Temp Geno Grubbs, were on hand when the homeowner of 50 Union Street was presented with keys to her new home.
Union Street lies within the Dog Hill Architectural District known for its late Victorian Architectural Style which consists of typical turn of century framed construction cottages. APSU College of Business plans two Graduate Management Admission Test prep workshops
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University College of Business announces two workshops planned for students who need to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) for graduate admission.
The GMAT measures verbal, mathematical and analytical and writing skills. Two workshops, one in math and the other in language skills and writing, will be available to help prepare test-takers succeed in these areas. «Read the rest of this article»
F&M Bank’s Scott Giles Completes LSU Graduate School of Banking
Clarksville, TN – Scott Giles, vice president and commercial lender at F&M Bank, is among the 160 bankers who received graduation diplomas on June 1st, 2012 from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
This three-year program provides courses covering all aspects of banking, economics and related subjects. Students traveled from twenty states and Mexico to participate in this session.

Montgomery County Facilities Development Earns Green Certification
Montgomery County, TN – The latest organization to become Green Certified through the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program is the Montgomery County Facilities Development Office, located at 350 Pageant Lane.
A Green Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Monday, June 18th to celebrate their successful initiatives and completion of the program.

Russ Shemberger scores podium finish in Music City Du Run Run duathlon
Clarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, scored a podium finish at the Music City Du Run Run duathlon held on Father’s Day, June 17th in Nashville, TN.
A veteran multisport athlete, Shemberger won third in his age group (male 45-49). He completed the course (2-mile run, 10-mile bike, 2-mile run) in 55 minutes, 17 seconds. He bettered his time by more than seven minutes when he last raced this venue in 2009.

Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist with Restore Performance Massage, won third in his age group June 17th at the Music City Du Run Run duathlon in Nashville.

Beachaven Winery’s Jazz on the Lawn is Saturday, June 23rd
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday night, June 9th, Beachaven Winery will hold their next ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ concert with Jim Gibson and some of his musician buddies from Nashville. The music starts at 6:30pm and goes until 9:30pm.

Humane Society of Clarksville Montgomery County to host Kitten Adoption Day Sunday
Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, June 24th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, the Humane Society of Clarksville Montgomery County will hold a Kitten Adoption Day.
The photos shown below look like they could have been pulled out of a professionally designed calendar, but every kitty you see is available for adoption through the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County.
As the kittens get older, it gets tougher and tougher to find them homes. During this time of year, the phones at local area shelters ring off the walls with individuals needing help placing litters of kittens (and spaying mama cats to prevent future litters).

Dunbar Cave State Park activities for June 24th through June 30th
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer.

Austin Peay State University’s Highland Crest Campus names Kristen Brewer new coordinator
Clarksville, TN – Individuals looking to finish their college careers by enrolling at Austin Peay State University’s Highland Crest campus in Robertson County will now have a friendly face to help guide them through the process – new extended campus coordinator Kristen Brewer.
Brewer is now working at the Springfield campus, which houses both APSU and Volunteer State Community College programs, to help students interested in completing a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, a Bachelor of Professional Studies, a Master of Arts in Teaching or a Master of Arts in Education with a reading specialist licensure.
