The video was produced for the annual APSU Hall of Fame induction ceremonies and chronicled the life and career of Sears, who was one of the University’s greatest two-sport athletes from 1939-1942.

Sears lost his life in World War II as a member of the US Army Air Corp.

“This was truly a collaborative effort with my colleagues and students, and I’m very grateful for the time and dedication that went in to creating this piece by all of them,” Gresham said. “It was an honor and privilege to be able to tell the story of Mr. Sears, who paid the ultimate sacrifice by giving his life for his country.”

Collaborating with Gresham on this video were Dr. Mike Gotcher, professor of education, and David Ellison, video production coordinator, along with APSU Department of Communication students Brent Richardson, Christian Hodges and Ethan Schmidt.

The Broadcast Education Association is the premiere international academic media organization, driving insights, excellence in media production and career advancement for educators, students and professionals. There are currently more than 2,500 individual and institutional members worldwide.
