Montgomery County Relay For Life currently taking Luminaria Orders for Event Ceremony
Clarksville, TN – As this year’s Relay For Life campaign effort approaches its close and final plans for the culminating event are almost complete, the public is invited to participate. As we continue our efforts to “Finish the Fight” in the cure for all forms of cancer, we recognize that there are many in the community who will lose the battle and succumb to the fight with cancer.
In the midst of the celebration and festivities that will take place during the Relay For Life event on May 20th, it is also a time dedicated to reflection and healing, to commemorate those who courageously fought but lost the battle in their fight with cancer.
Classics at Austin Peay State University students present at international conference
Clarksville, TN – Six Austin Peay State University Classics students recently presented papers at the Fifth Annual University of Tennessee Undergraduate Classics Conference, an international, refereed conference held on the campus of the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
This marked the third consecutive year APSU has had multiple students accepted, and also represented the highest total of students of any university at the conference.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host Job Fair

APSU Breast Cancer 5K set for April 23rd
Clarksville, TN – On April 23rd, runners, walkers and community supporters will gather at Austin Peay State University’s Foy Fitness and Recreation Center for the Sixth Annual Austin Peay Breast Cancer 5k. Proceeds from the event, which is pet friendly, will go toward breast cancer treatment and research.
Dancing with the Stars to be held Saturday March 5th, 2016
Clarksville, TN – Altrusa International Foundation of Clarksville presents its Seventh Annual Dancing with the Stars show on Saturday March 5th, 2016, 7:00pm at the Austin Peay State University’s Music/Mass Communications Building. This year will be an All-Star Reunion Show with 10 former Stars once again returning to the stage!
The event is held as a fund raiser to provide scholarships to non-traditional students. Our goal this year is to present $10,000 in scholarships.
APSU welcomes Nashville-based designer and illustrator Rachel Briggs
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Art and Design, with support from the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, is pleased to welcome nationally-recognized designer and illustrator Rachel Briggs to campus for a visiting artist lecture.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be at 7:00pm, on February 24th, in room 401 of the Trahern Building.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebrated in “The Mountaintop” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, February 24th – February 27th
Clarksville, TN – During his last night on earth, what thoughts and emotions might have passed through the mind and heart of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? During Black History Month, in honor of the civil rights leader, the Roxy Regional Theatre explores this idea in five public performances of “The Mountaintop”, February 24th – February 27th.
On the evening of April 3rd, 1968, after delivering one of his most memorable speeches, an exhausted Dr. King retired to his room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. In this gripping re-imagination of events occurring in the hours before his assassination, playwright Katori Hall picks up with a fictional depiction of a mysterious stranger who arrives at the motel room with some surprising news, forcing Dr. King to confront his destiny and his legacy to his people.
