Catch a sneak peek of “The Cat in the Hat” tomorrow afternoon at the Roxy Regional Theatre
Clarksville, TN – Don’t let tomorrow’s rain keep you inside with nothing to do, take advantage of the day off from school, and be the first to see Dr. Seuss’ classic story brought to life on stage at the Roxy Regional Theatre.
In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday (a day early), we are offering a special sneak preview of “The Cat in the Hat” this Tuesday, March 1st at 4:00pm. Tickets are $10.00 (cash or check only) and will only be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.
CASE III honors Austin Peay State University Public Relations and Marketing for its excellence
Clarksville, TN – The Office of Public Relations and Marketing at Austin Peay State University has been recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) – Southeast District III for its promotional work.
The awards were announced during the CASE III annual conference held in February in Nashville, Tennessee.
Austin Peay State University’s The All State ranked best college newspaper at 2016 SEJC
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s student-produced newspaper The All State, after 85 years in print, can declare itself as the finest college paper in the Southeastern U.S.
The All State took first overall in the best college newspaper category at last week’s Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC), held February 18th-20th on the campus of APSU. The All State also placed third overall as best college website, while editor-in-chief Katelyn Clark, photo editor Taylor Slifko and staff writer Sarah Eskildson combined to finish second for best public service journalism.
Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for March 3rd – 9th, 2016
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Raccoons and Ripe Corn, Sunset Hike, Walk with the Ranger, Early Spring Hike, Port Royal History Walk, Bird Hike, and Trail of Tears at Port Royal.
APSU alumni Lynn Von Hagen pursues research opportunity in Kenya
Clarksville, TN – As a young person, Lynn Von Hagen dreamed of working with animals. She donated to conservation groups and gave her time and talents to Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary, a domestic animal rescue organization in Hendersonvillem TN.
However, as is the case for many people, Von Hagen was forced to postpone her dreams of pursuing studies in zoology, ecology and animal biology and concentrate on earning a living.

APSU’s Victor Felts presented with Southeastern Interfaternity Conference’s highest honor
Clarksville, TN – Victor Felts, director of Student Life and Engagement at Austin Peay State University, was presented with the Dr. Karlem Riess Award during this month’s Southeastern Interfaternity Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Dr. Karlem Riess Award is the highest honor bestowed to an individual by the Southeastern Interfraternity Conference.
Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Festival to be held April 14th-16th
Clarksville, TN – The 14th annual award-winning free Rivers and Spires Festival is set for April 14th-16th, 2016. Festival goers will enjoy five stages of live entertainment with over 100 performers during the three days.
From children’s activities, arts vendors, a car show, military exhibits, shopping and so much more, this is truly an event for the whole family. Country music artist and reality star Kellie Pickler will headline the Public Square stage at 7:30pm and Dove awarding artist Plumb will headline the Christian stage at 7:00pm on Saturday night.
Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department’s 14th Annual Chili Supper Saturday, February 27th
Cunningham, TN – The Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department will be having their Annual Chili Supper at the Montgomery Central Middle School on Saturday February 27th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
Come on by and enjoy live music by the Back lot pickers and visit with your friends and neighbors. You can take your meal home if you prefer. Supper includes a bowl of chili, cornbread, crackers, drink and dessert.

Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County Public Health Director Joey Smith (’99) was recently honored for his work in the fight against breast cancer by the Greater Nashville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure with his induction into the 2016 Class of Pink Tie Guys.
