John McDonald Makes Final Appearance as Scrooge in “A Christmas Carol” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, December 9th – 19th
Clarksville, TN – All good things must come to an end, and signature performances are no exception. After nine years of delivering countless “Bah Humbugs” upon the Roxy Regional Theatre stage, John McDonald will hang up his hat as the miserly businessman Ebenezer Scrooge with this year’s production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmsa Carol”, opening December 9th.
Under the direction of Tom Thayer, Dickens’ classic tale of Christmases Past, Present and Future meets such holiday standards as “Deck the Halls,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “What Child Is This,” “I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In” and more, performed to the music of acoustic instrumentalists Red River Breeze.
“A Christmas Carol” opens Wednesday, December 9th, at 7:00pm for the theatre’s traditional pay-what-you-can preview. All tickets not pre-sold at the regular ticket price will go on sale at 6:30pm that evening for a $5.00 minimum donation. In addition, the Roxy will also be collecting new, unwrapped toys for disadvantaged children.
“A Christmas Carol” plays December 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th at 7:00pm; December 11th, 12th and 18th at 8:00pm; and December 12th and 19th at 2:00pm.
Tickets are $25.00 (adults) and $15.00 (ages 13 and under) and may be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at 931.645.7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to curtain). Active-duty military, APSU students and CitySaver coupon holders can receive two tickets for the price of one to Wednesday and Thursday performances.
This production is made possible in part through the generous support of Dr. Ernest & Joan DeWald, Gerald & Jane Gilman, Sal & Andrea Herrera, and James Holleman.
The Roxy Regional Theatre is located at 100 Franklin Street in Clarksville, TN.
