Young Professionals Network hosted Handbags for Hope

Clarksville Association of REALTORSClarksville, TN – The Young Professionals Network (YPN) of the Clarksville Association of Realtors (CAR) hosted the second Handbags for Hope charity event, benefiting Urban Ministries’ The SafeHouse, on Saturday, August 15th raising $51,067.

Handbags for Hope was held at the Riverview Inn located at 50 College Street.

There were over 200 new and gently used handbags that were included in the silent auction and 15 themed new handbags were auctioned.

The live auction bag themes included Weekend Getaway, Chocolate Lover, Fitness, Cocktails & Wine and 11 others.

“Handbags for Hope is a night full of fun, friendship, and shopping with all proceeds going back to our community. I look forward to this event each year now! Nothing is more rewarding than being a part of my community and helping to make a difference.” Said CAR YPN Chairman, Melissa Powers.

Luther Ramsey of Tennessee Title Services donated his time as emcee and auctioneer again this year and event photography and a Photo Booth were donated by Barlow Girls Photography.

The SafeHouse is a domestic violence shelter that is fully staffed 24 hours a day to provide safety, peace and comfort to women and children in need. Founded in 1987 by Urban Ministries, it provides emergency shelter, advocacy, transportation, education and counseling. The confidential 24-hour hotline for the SafeHouse is 866.592.6902.
