Planters BankClarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature artwork by local photographer Beverly Parker from Thursday, December 4th – Wednesday, December 31st.

Parker’s exhibit, “An Alternative Prospective,” will showcase three different styles of photography: manipulated Polariods, Van Dyke Brown, and images and landscapes from the Land Between the Rivers.

Parker’s background in darkroom developing and printing provided a bridge to experimenting with other photography processes.

She especially enjoys experimenting with processes that were used at the advent of photography, such as Van Dyke Brown.

Since in-date Polaroid film can no longer be found, Parker finds herself recycling old images by cropping and changing text and content.

“My love, respect, and excitement for the Land Between the Rivers are evidenced in my broad body of work of that area,” she says. “All of the seasons reflect the flux of a feral land.”

The Planters-Hilldale branch is located at 1971 Madison Street. The exhibit rotates the First Thursday of each month and is open to the public during regular bank hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday, and 8:30am-5:30pm, Friday.
