The Plaids Are Back! Roxy Regional Theatre Presents “Plaid Tidings” for the Holidays, November 29 – December 14th

November 28, 2013 | Print This Post

Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – You’ll be dreaming of a “Plaid” Christmas this holiday season when the boys from Forever Plaid return to the Roxy Regional Theatre!

At first Frankie, Jinx, Smudge and Sparky aren’t sure why they’ve returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they’re needed to put a little four-part harmony into a discordant holiday.

“Plaid Tidings” opens Friday, November 29th, for the Roxy’s traditional pay-what-you-can preview. All tickets not pre-sold at the regular ticket price will go on sale at 7:30pm that evening for whatever price patrons wish to pay.

Reprising their roles from 2010’s production of Forever Plaid are Ryan Bowie as Jinx and Josh Bernaski as Sparky. Michael Spaziani as Frankie and RJ Magee as Smudge complete the quartet.

Accompanied by Tom Thayer on piano and John Waddle on bass, the boys will get you in the holiday spirit with such “Plaid-erized” Christmas standards as “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Let It Snow” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” alongside hit favorites “Mambo Italiano,” “Hey There,” “Besame Mucho” and “Fever.”

On Thursday, December 12th, patrons can ring in the season with the Roxy’s third annual “Christmas Over The Cumberland,” featuring a holiday dinner by The Bound’ry at 5:00pm at F&M Bank’s Franklin Room, followed by the 7:00pm performance of “Plaid Tidings”. Included in the evening’s menu are Rib Roast, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Carrots and Parsnips, Herb-Roasted Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, Cranberry Sauce, Fresh-Baked Breads, and Chef’s Choice Dessert. Tickets are $50.00.

“Plaid Tidings” is produced in part by F&M Bank and Orgain Building Supply, along with Linda Nichols and Jim Marshall. Additional funding support has been provided by Dr. Ernest & Joan DeWald, James & Christa Holleman, and Melissa A. Schaffner.

“Plaid Tidings” runs November 29th through December 14th, playing Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm, with a 2:00pm matinee on Saturday, December 7th.

Tickets are $25.00 (adults) and $15.00 (ages 13 and under) and may be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at 931.45.7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to curtain).

APSU students, active-duty military and CitySaver coupon holders can receive two tickets for the price of one to Wednesday and Thursday 7:00pm performances.
