Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence labels restored sculpture on campus

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – In June 2012, local artist Mike Andrews returned to Austin Peay State University to restore an outdoor sculpture he’d installed on campus in 1985.

The piece, “Light Modulator,” was placed on a small, grassy hill outside the University’s Kimbrough Building, where it sat for almost three decades exposed to not only the sun, but also strong winds, downpours, numerous ice and snowstorms and the slow but relentless advance of moss and lichen.

F&M Investment Services - Raymond James - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – As was widely anticipated, lawmakers reached an 11th-hour agreement on the budget and debt ceiling. The “Continuing Appropriations Act, 2014” funds the government through January 15th, suspends the debt ceiling to February 7th, and requests bipartisan House/Senate budget negotiations by December 13th.

Thus, while the deal dodges a near-term financial catastrophe, it does not remove uncertainty entirely. Lawmakers will have less than three months to agree on a new spending authorization.
