Etcetera art exhibit comes to APSU on October 8th
Clarksville, TN – Artist Jennifer Oliphant wants to create a new appreciation for the beauty of everyday objects. That’s what she has in mind when she sets out to capture images with her camera.
“My inspiration for these projects comes from finding gratitude everyday,” she said. “In finding things to be grateful for, I also began to notice extreme beauty in objects that mostly go unnoticed. Details, not the whole, are what are important to me at this time in my life.”
The title “Etcetera” was chosen for this exhibit because it is a continuation of Oliphant’s previous work, work that she has continued and pieces she hopes to improve upon in the future. The works express her desire to bring the observer closer to objects by accentuating details or limiting them. Ultimately Oliphant wants the viewer to decide where to find the beauty.
The exhibition runs through October 11th, and will end with a closing reception from 5:00pm to 7:00pm that evening with the artist. For more information on this or upcoming exhibits, contact the APSU Department of Art at 931.221.7333.
