Hilltop Market’s 3rd Annual BBQ Cook Off started Friday night
Clarksville, TN – The smell of BBQ was in the air as hundreds of people gathered at Hilltop Market Friday night for the start of their 3rd Annual BBQ Cook Off. The Back Lot Pickers featuring Donald and Lucian Greene were on hand providing the music. Food was available by Manna Café as well as samples of BBQ.
The BBQ cook off began this morning so make sure to come out and taste some of the best BBQ around.

The Categories this year include ribs, chicken, pork and brisket. The pork and brisket categories have been added this year.
The team judging will start today at 12:00pm with chicken, then spare ribs at 12:30pm, pork at 1:00pm and beef brisket at 1:30pm. Awards will be given out shortly after judging warps up at 2:00pm.
On Friday, May 11th, there was also a Car Show and a BBQ Cook Off between Ideal Distributing and Ajax Distributing.
Crowds gathered around the different types of cars at the car show with spectators talking to owners about the different aspects of their vehicle
Teams from Ideal Distributing (Rusty Harris and Brian Richardson) and Ajax Distributing (Roger Stuard and Ben Karnes) went head to head in a BBQ Rib Cook Off.
Samples of their work were provided to those in attendance in undisclosed containers to taste and then vote on. A voting ticket was then placed in either the blue ballet box or red ballet box.
The vote was very close. So close that it was counted twice. Ajax Distributing got 94 votes and the winner, Ideal Distributing got 100 votes.

As the evening settled in, more and more people gathered with lawn chairs in hand, to listen to the live music and eat good food.
