APSU Provost Lecture Series to discuss Axis POWs

Clarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University history faculty member whose research focuses on prisoners of war (POW) will talk about the Axis POWs held in the U.S. during World War II as part of the next Provost Lecture Series at APSU.
Dr. Antonio Thompson, associate professor of history, will present at 3:00pm, Thursday, November 15th in the Morgan University Center, Room 303. All sessions of the Provost Lecture Series are free and open to the public. [Read more]
Shemberger places in top 10 at inaugural Bowling Green Half-Marathon

Clarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, finished in the top 10 of all finishers in the inaugural Bowling Green Half-Marathon on Sunday, November 4th in Bowling Green, KY.
Shemberger finished the hilly 13.1-mile course in 1:34:10, his personal best at this distance, and placed second in his age group (45-49). The course route included downtown Bowling Green and the Western Kentucky University campus.
Clarksville Montgomery County School System announces Administrative Appointments

Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville Montgomery County Schools Director Mike Harris announced the appointment of four new assistant principals for the 2012-13 school year.
They include: Tammy J. Mason at East Montgomery Elementary School; Tavis Massey at Northeast and Rossview High Schools; Lorie Snyder at Moore Magnet Elementary School; and Sean Wilson at Kenwood Middle School. [Read more]
APSU alumnus earns student paper award

Clarksville, TN – A paper written by an Austin Peay State University alumnus has been chosen to receive an award from the International Biometric Society’s Eastern North American Region (ENAR).
Christopher McMahan (’05) will be recognized in March with a Distinguished Student Paper Award during the ENAR’s spring meeting in Miami, FL. He also will present his winning paper, titled “Informative Dorfman Screening.” [Read more]
