Clarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.
This weeks highlights include: Queen City Road Race, Liberty Live Summer Concert Series, Fun with Fido, 150th Homecoming of the Tennessee 14th Infantry and Summer Youth Program.
Summer Youth Program to begin June 1st

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Summer Youth Program will begin June 1st with the opening of program sites and will end July 10th. This year’s theme is “Blast from the Past!”
The Summer Youth Program is a six-week day camp-type program that is offered each summer to youths, ages 6-16. Gyms at various locations are staffed with directors and assistants, who will help with playtime activities and provide free, instructional classes such as dance and karate.

First Class of 2014 Completes Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Workshops

Montgomery County, TN – The first class of 2014 completed the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program (CMCGCP) workshops. The group began in January and concluded a series of three workshops that lasted approximately three hours each in March.

Mason Bellamy Named Head of Special Education, Jessica Harris Selected Hazelwood Principal
Montgomery County, TN – Dr. Mason Bellamy has been named Director of Services for Exceptional Children beginning March 17th. Dr. Bellamy has served as principal of Hazelwood Elementary School since 2012. He will replace Cara Alexander who is retiring.
Clarksville Montgomery County School System to kickoff Pre-Kindergarten Applications in March

West Creek Elementary School to hold Fundraiser for Paralyzed Student Emily Jean

Clarksville, TN – On January 29th at 6:00pm, West Creek Elementary School will host a Talent Showcase to raise funds for Glenellen Elementary third grader, Emily Jean.
Through donations at the door, a silent auction, and t-shirt sales, the school is hoping to raise wonderful support for this little girl!
Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold Friends of the Blueway meeting and public review for the Blueway project

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will hold the review of the Bobby Clark Blueway Access and Natural Area Park Development on Tuesday, November 13th. The meeting will be held at 5:30pm at West Creek Elementary School, located at 1201 West Creek Coyote Trail.
This open meeting will feature a power point map of the site, similar to previous public meetings and handouts regarding the planned construction of the Bobby Clark Blueway Access and Natural Area Park as well as the expected time frame for the project’s completion. [Read more]
