Montgomery County Veterans Service OrganizationMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, November 11th, 2017 with pre-parade ceremonies set for 9:00am in front of the historic courthouse (south side) on Third Street in downtown Clarksville.

Keynote speaker is Army retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 John Clement, who currently serves as the Field Representative for Congressman Marsha Blackburn representing the 7th Congressional district of Tennessee.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The 39th Annual Queen City Road Race, scheduled for Saturday, May 6th, is quickly approaching and there is still time to register in person or online.

Online registration can be completed at www.cityofclarksville.com/parksrec and is available until noon on Friday, May 5th. Participants registering in person may come by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Office, 102 Public Square, through Friday, May 6th or register onsite at Austin Peay’s Foy Center the morning of Saturday, May 6th.

Clarksville kicks off the Christmas Season with annual Lighted Parade

ChristmasClarksville, TN – On Saturday, December 3rd, 2016, the 57th Annual Clarksville Lighted Christmas Parade was held in Downtown Clarksville. The theme this year was “Christmas Trees & Memories”.

Caroling on the courthouse steps began before the parade at 4:00pm. The Montgomery Central Elementary School Choir; Clarksville Academy Choirs; Northeast High School Exit One, JV Exit One & Concert Choirs; and West Creek High School Choir sang Christmas carols and performed to the delight of the crowd before the start of the parade.

Montgomery County announces Billy Ray Cyrus to Ride in Veterans Day Parade

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government is pleased to announce that country singer Billy Ray Cyrus will be riding in the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 5th, as a guest of Appleton’s Harley Davidson.

Cyrus, along with a special guest of his, will be riding with a group of motorcyclists in the parade to support Operation Home Front.

Austin Peay State University to hold Grand opening for Wayne and Marianne Ard Building October 13th

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will celebrate the grand opening of the Wayne and Marianne Ard Building — the new home of the University’s Health and Counseling Services— on Thursday, October 13th, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The event will begin at 2:30pm, and is free and open to the public. A building tour and reception will follow at 3:00pm.
