Montgomery County Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink opens Saturday, November 20th

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink will return for a fourth year, bringing fun times to downtown Clarksville beginning this Saturday, November 20th, 2021!
The first session kicks off at 4:00pm and then the top of every hour until 8:00pm closing at 8:45pm. There will be a raffle for the first 150 skaters to put their name in a drawing for 10 free tickets to be used throughout the ice skating season.
Between 5:00pm-5:30pm, Nashville Predators’ very own Gnash will be at the rink for a special appearance following the Austin Peay State University football game! Tater Headz will also be open with some satisfying food in the walk-up eatery beginning at 4:00pm.

GNASH and the Energy Team will be there too! Don’t forget your blankets, chairs and warm clothes. Golly G’s will be open with wonderful sweets, popcorn and warm drinks! Ice cream will also be available for the brave souls.
Fort Campbell wins Broomball Challenge at Downtown Commons Ice Rink

Montgomery County, TN – Major General Andrew Poppas and his 101st Airborne Division team won the inaugural Mayor vs Major Broomball game at the Downtown Commons ice rink Wednesday night, January 10th, 2 to 1 in overtime.
TRC Executive Director Norman Quirion commented after the game. “What an event. I’m going to say there were at least 300 people out here, and the condition of the ice made tonight’s game more competitive than expected. It wasn’t a high-scoring game, but the competition was real.”

On Saturday, March 28th, thousands of colored eggs will be floating or sunk in the center’s pools, each good for candy and prizes. An adaptive egg hunt will be offered for children and adults with special needs at 11:00am with the remaining hunts for children ages 1 to 11 following from 1:00pm to 7:00pm.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to host Imagination Library “Hats Off To Reading” with Celebrity Readers, June 25th

Clarksville, TN – Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer will be among the celebrity readers at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Wednesday, June 25th for a child-centered event to highlight the Montgomery County Imagination Library.
Other guest readers include GNASH, the Nashville Predators mascot, Kirby Cannon, APSU Head Football Coach, along with the APSU Governor’s mascot and the Tender Paws therapy dogs.
The fun will begin at 10:00 that morning in the atrium of the library.
