Montgomery County Parks and Recreation to hold Total Solar Eclipse Viewings at Richellen Park and Woodlawn Park

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Parks and Recreation invites the public to view the solar eclipse at Richellen Park and Woodlawn Park on Monday, August 21st, 2017. The parks will be open to the public at 10:00am for this historic event.
Concessions will be available from the Montgomery Central Little League and Woodlawn Little League. All proceeds from concessions sales will go to the Leagues.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Residents must take precautions during August 21st event
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County is in the path of the Great American Eclipse of August 21st, 2017, making this a prime destination for those who want to view this rare astronomical occurrence.
This will be the first coast-to-coast eclipse in 98 years and the first in the continental United States since 1978. The eclipse can only be seen in a path 60 miles wide across the United State, so this will be a once in a lifetime experience to to witness a fascinating natural phenomenon.
Clarksville Regional Airport to hold Total Solar Eclipse Viewing

Clarksville, TN – A once-in-a-lifetime sky gazing opportunity will occur this summer and Clarksville Regional Airport (CKV – Outlaw Field) is inviting the community to watch this historic phenomenon from the grounds of the airport.
A total Solar Eclipse will take place on Monday, August 21st, 2017 and Clarksville Regional will host a free-to-the-public Solar Eclipse Viewing Event from noon until 3:00pm.
Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for September 9th through September 14th, 2014

Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Kids Discover Bats, Full Moon Rising, Bat Walk, Bird Hike, Nature Hike At Port Royal, Evening Nature Hike and Trees Of Dunbar Cave.
Austin Peay State University physics student builds Spectrometer for Observatory

Clarksville, TN – In the middle of the night, a little sliver of light shines from the doorway of the observatory in the remote farmland of the Austin Peay State University Environmental Education Center.
Inside, maybe with a cup of coffee or a soda to keep her awake, is APSU physics student Katie Boedges, waiting for the Cat’s Eye Nebula to appear in the night sky.
