Clarksville’s Riverfest Tour d’Art Exhibits and Competition Registration underway now

Clarksville, TN – Registration is currently underway for the Riverfest Tour d’Art Exhibits and Competition. This year’s competition will feature the following three exhibits: Amateur & Professional Divisions, High School Division, and the Senior Citizens’ Division.
Artwork is displayed at exhibits at various locations in downtown Clarksville, and then juried, and over $2,500 in prizes is awarded.
Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council looking for Artwork Submissions for 2014 Arts & Heritage Cultural Calendar

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council (AHDC) is putting out a call to artists who are interested in having their work featured in its sixth annual Cultural Calendar.
Each month will feature an artist’s work and highlight arts and heritage events of the past and present. Submitted work will be juried to determine which piece is featured each month, as well as which artwork appears on the cover.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has Four Graduate from Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy

Montgomery County, TN – Four new deputies will soon be patrolling the streets of Montgomery County after graduating from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in Nashville, Tennessee.
The graduates were Deputies Eric Trout, Patrick Turner, Christopher Owens and Robert Parker.

Montgomery County, TN – Fall 2013 Master Gardener Course applications now being accepted by the Montgomery County Extension office.
All classes will be held at the Montgomery County Extension office on Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm-9:00pm beginning August 27th and ending November 19th.

Lone Oak Picnic provides great food and entertainment to the Cunningham Community

Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 27th, the Central Civitan Club held the 105th Annual Lone Oak Picnic from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Central Civitan Building located on Alonzo Place in Southern Montgomery County. By 11:00am, the parking area was overflowing with cars and trucks of those in attendance.
“This morning it was threatening rain, but the sun came out and we have a beautiful day for the event,” stated Central Civitan officer Larry Pitts.
Clarksville Senior City Amateur to be held at Swan Lake Golf Course, August 3rd and 4th

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Senior City Am will be held on August 3rd and 4th at Swan Lake Golf Course and is open to males that are 50 years of age or older prior to August 7th, 2013.
Residents of Clarksville/Montgomery County, TN, active duty military personnel residing on post at Fort Campbell, or resident students at Austin Peay State University are eligible.

Lone Oak Picnic this Saturday in Cunningham Tennessee

Cunningham, TN – The 105th annual Lone Oak Picnic will be held Saturday, July 27th, 2013, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Central Civitan Building.
The Lone Oak Picnic features old time BBQ, political speeches, gospel and bluegrass music, inflatables, and a car show.
The Lone Oak Picnic is a tradition dating back to 1908, and the Central Civitan Club is proud to host this wholesome, fun, community and family event. All are welcome to attend.
