Montgomery County Animal Care and Control Hosts Annual Scotti Reif Superhero Adoption Event

Montgomery County, TN – On Saturday, October 26th, 2019, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) will host its third annual superhero adoption event from 10:00am to 3:00pm at 616 North Spring Street in remembrance of Scotti Reif, son of MCACC employee Adria Reif.
Scotti was an avid animal lover who often helped his mom care for the cats and dogs at MCACC. Scotti passed away in August 2016. The adoption event is done to honor Scotti’s memory and help homeless pets find loving homes.

During this time adoption fees will be waived to all Gold Star Family Members and the microchip fee for all Active Duty Service Members, with identification, will be waived.

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) received a $2,000 Petfinder ‘Nestle Purina New Year, New Home Pet Adoption Grant’ from the Petfinder Foundation this week.
The Petfinder ‘Nestle Purina New Year, New Home Pet Adoption Grant’ program is used to help subsidize pet adoptions with free or fee-reduced fees at Petfinder organizations that are awarded this grant.

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Care and Control’s (MCACC) March Madness Adoption Fee event is happening today through April 8th, 2019.
During this time, adoption fees are half price, for a total cost of only $12.50.
Additionally, the normal $8.00 adoption fee for the Lonely Hearts and Golden Whisker Club members will be waived. This special covers adoption fees only and does not include possible fees such as, microchip, rabies and spay/neuter charges.
Clarksville Police Department to hold annual Run for C.O.P.S. 5K Run/Walk on May 11th, 2019

Clarksville, TN – The Fourth Annual Run for C.O.P.S. will kick off the 2018 National Law Enforcement Week with a fun, non-competitive, fitness event for the whole family. This 5k will take place in Historic Downtown Clarksville starting at the Clarksville Police Department and going through the downtown area.
The event will take place Saturday, May 11th, 2019 from 9:00am until 11:00am.

Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County reports that as of Thursday, June 21st, 2018 Montgomery County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) counted 52 young kittens and 16 adult felines at its shelter currently ready and available for adoption.
There are dozens more waiting in quarantine and space is always an issue when more animals continue to be surrendered or brought in as strays.

Montgomery County Animal Care partners with 72nd Medical Detachment to help Homeless Animals

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Care and Control is pleased to celebrate one year of partnering with the 72nd Medical Detachment Veterinary Service Support, which is part of the 86th Combat Support Hospital.
Not only have these military heroes examined and treated many homeless animals in the last year, but they have now added spaying and neutering so the animals will be adopted quicker.
Montgomery County Animal Control receives Grant from Banfield Foundation

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Care and Control is pleased to have been chosen for a grant from Banfield Foundation.
This grant, called the Banfield Foundation Flea and Tick Grant, will provide approximately 800 doses of flea/tick prevention medicine valued at approximately $3,000 for small, medium and large dogs, as well as cats and kittens, in the care of Animal Control.
