Clarksville, TN – Kids of all ages are encouraged to come to Christmas on the Cumberland for fun, family friendly activities. Christmas on the Cumberland is open nightly from 5:00pm-10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday and 5:00pm-11:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays through January 5th, 2013.
Admission to the event is free.

Bass Pro Shops Big Cat Quest Championship to be held at Clarksville’s McGregor Park

McGregor Park Docks Will Be Closed for the Event Saturday and Sunday
Clarksville, TN – The Bass Pro Shops Big Cat Quest Championship will be taking place on the banks of the Cumberland River in Clarksville, Tennessee, October 27th-28th.
The Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and Ken Freeman Outdoor Promotions invite you to see all the action live at McGregor Park. The CVB also wants to announce that the Courtesy Docks located at the park will be closed over the weekend to accommodate the tournament participants.
APSU history students tour World War II vessel

Clarksville, TN – In early 1943, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill is alleged to have said, “The destinies of two great empires…seemed to be tied up in some damned things called LSTs.”
He was referring to the amphibious vessels known as Landing Ship Tank that were used to transport tanks, armored vehicles, trucks and soldiers to major World War II invasion sites such as Sicily and Normandy. More than 1,000 ships were built, but Churchill complained that more were needed to win the war.

USS LST 325 docks in Clarkville at McGregor Park Boat Ramp

Clarksville, TN – This afternoon, September 25th, the USS LST 325 made it’s way down the Cumberland River from Nashville and docked at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp around 3:00pm. Crews began tying the boat off to the banks and preparing it for tomorrows tours. The ship will be available for tours September 26th-30th.
The LST (Landing Ship, Tank) is a floating monument to the past. The ship was used in various missions in World War II including the invasion of Sicily. Visitors are able to climb aboard and explore the ship as the crew provides a glimpse into her past.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Riverfest Volunteer Prize Winners

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce the winners of the Riverfest volunteer prize.
The Austin Peay State University chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity will be awarded the $500.00 cash prize for providing the largest group of volunteers for the 2012 Riverfest celebration held September 7th and 8th at McGregor Park. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – The 2012 Riverfest Festival continues Saturday. The free festival held on the banks of the Cumberland River at McGregor Park celebrates Clarksville’s river heritage.
Come out and join the City of Clarksville, Budweiser, and Agero as they celebrate the 25th annual Riverfest Celebration, September 7th and 8th, 2012. This Free, two day music and arts festival features four stages of a variety of local, regional and nationally-known entertainers, delicious food, and fun for the entire family.
