Concert part of ceremony to unveil newly renamed Fortera Stadium
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, April 23rd, Austin Peay State University and Fortera Credit Union celebrate a new era in Governors Football with the unveiling of the newly renamed Fortera Stadium, capped off with a concert by Nashville recording artist Maggie Rose in the stadium lot.
Rose’s performance will conclude a day’s worth of activities, beginning with a noon baseball game, as the Governors take on Eastern Kentucky in Raymond C. Hand Park. At 1:00pm, Governors Softball will compete against Jacksonville State at Cheryl Holt Field.
Austin Peay State University Hispanic Cultural Center goes on tour, hosts World Cup Sticker Exchange

Clarksville, TN – World Cup fever continues to intensify, with soccer fans across the globe scrambling to fill their World Cup sticker albums. The Austin Peay State University Hispanic Cultural Center and Hispanic Alumni Chapter are embarking on a tour to host World Cup Sticker Exchanges at select businesses.
In addition to trading stickers and filling up World Cup sticker albums, there will be free giveaways for those that can answer soccer trivia correctly. Participants will also receive Lady Govs Soccer posters, and be able to speak with staff members about Austin Peay, the APSU Hispanic Alumni Chapter and resources provided by the APSU Hispanic Cultural Center. Austin Peay State University receives Top National Award for improved efforts in Educational Fundraising

Clarksville, TN – Since 2010, Austin Peay State University has encouraged alumni, friends and supporters to give to The Legacy Campaign, the University’s current capital fundraising program that so far has significantly increased millions of dollars for scholarships and educational endeavors.
APSU is being recognized for its efforts with The Legacy Campaign.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education, known in the education circle as CASE, has selected APSU to receive the 2013 CASE Educational Fundraising Award, an honor given to superior fundraising programs at educational institutions across the U.S. [Read more]
APSU to celebrate Women in Athletics April 5th-6th with focus on Title IX

Clarksville, TN – It’s time to laud all current and former female athletes at Austin Peay State University.
The second Women in Athletics celebration, scheduled for April 5th-6th, will spotlight the 40th anniversary of Title IX, monumental federal legislation first enacted in 1972 that requires gender equity in sports and other key educational programs receiving federal funding.
The law states, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” [Read more]
Govs Give Back a success for APSU Student-Athletes

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s student-athletes were privileged to be part of “Govs Give Back” for the third-straight year, this time helping close to 300 families with the Clarksville community with holiday groceries.
The project, spearheaded by the Austin Peay Fellowship of Christian Athletes, included volunteers from many Governors and Lady Govs sports teams through the Student Athlete Advisory Council.

Clarksville, TN – Three prominent Clarksville automobile dealers, who have been strong supporters of Austin Peay State University athletics for decades, will be inducted into the Red Coat Society, Saturday.
Don Jenkins, owner of Jenkins and Wynne Ford Lincoln Honda ; Gary Mathews, owner of Gary Mathews Automotive Group, and James Corlew, owner of James Corlew Chevrolet Cadillac, will be recognized Saturday during halftime of the Governors’ Sears BracketBusters contest with Youngstown State.
