Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau will unveil New Welcome Center in 2012

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors BureauClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) will be opening the doors to their newly remodeled Welcome Center in early 2012. This will be the first update to the center, located at 180 Holiday Drive, in over 20 years.

“The much-needed remodel to the Welcome Center will be ready just in time to start serving the spring and summer tourism traffic that comes to the community. As tourism continues to grow, we knew it was time to move forward on improvements to not only the look, but the function of the center,” said Steve Stroman, Chairman of the CVB Board of Directors.

The event will be held on Tuesday, November 8th, 2011 from 11:00am-4:00pm, at the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce Office located at 25 Jefferson Street in the Green Bank.

Most people recognize that Clarksville-Montgomery County’s nonprofit sector—a rich array of organizations of diverse sizes and purposes deliver crucial services that bring hope and help to some of our community’s most vulnerable citizens. Clarksville To Host 2012 Miss Tennessee USA Pageants This Week

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors BureauClarksville, TN – Clarksville will host 90 young women competing in the upcoming 2012 Miss Tennessee USA and Teen USA pageants.

Both events will take place at the Austin Peay State University Music and Mass Communications Building on October 7th and 8th, 2011. This will be Clarksville’s twelfth year hosting the pageants.

Miss Tennessee USA, Ashley Durham, and Miss Tennessee Teen USA, Kaitlin White, will be handing over their crowns at next weekend's pageant.

AAU Basketball Tournament Volunteers Needed

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors BureauClarksville, TN – Volunteers are needed for the 2011 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) 7th Grade Girls’ Basketball National Championship, hosted by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau, which will be held from Sunday, July 10th to Friday, July 15th.

This year, the tournaments will take place during the week at 12 different venues throughout the community. Volunteers are needed on Sunday during the day for registration and at 6:00pm to help line up athletes and work the opening ceremony. Responsibilities during the week-long tournaments will include checking player passes, selling tickets and programs and taking tickets. Volunteers will be needed from 7:30am to 8:30pm, Monday through Friday. [Read more]
