Barksdale Elementary Spanish Immersion Program Now Accepting Applications

Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) is now accepting applications for 2018-2019 kindergarten students interested in attending the district’s new Spanish Immersion program at Barksdale Elementary School.
Longest-Held Enlisted POW Bill Robinson to Speak at Clarksville Event on September 15th

Clarksville, TN – On September 20th, 1965, Airman 1st Class Bill Robinson began a typical mission day as part of the team trying to rescue a downed pilot in North Vietnam. Enemy ground fire downed their helicopter and the crew and pilot were captured.
The Vietnamese would not release Robinson for seven years and five months, making him the longest-held enlisted man in US military history.
USS LST-325 arrives in Clarksville Wednesday, September 6th

Clarksville, TN – The USS LST-325, 328-foot-long landing ship tank, will arrive in Clarksville on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017. The ship’s arrival in Clarksville is one of the many activities that are part of Visit Clarksville’s Welcome Home Veterans Celebration.
The LST-325 will be open for tours beginning at 9:00a.m. on Thursday, September 7th through 5:00pm Friday, September 15th. The LST will depart from Clarksville on Saturday, September 16th, 2017.
City of Clarksville to hold Independence Day event at Liberty Park July 3rd, 2017

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville will present its 10th annual Independence Day Celebration on Monday, July 3rd, 2017 at Liberty Park. The event is free and open to the public.
Liberty Park will open at 5:00pm and activities and music will begin at 6:30pm. Seating is available throughout the park and the concerts will take place on the Great Lawn of the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Clarksville to host Five Days of Welcome Home Veterans Events in September

Clarksville, TN – Visit Clarksville, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Veterans Coalition, is proud to host its third annual Welcome Home Veterans event September 13th-17th, 2017.
Multiple activities will be happening during the five-day period to celebrate and honor veterans, with an emphasis on Vietnam veterans.
3rd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5k Run/Walk/Crawl set for Saturday, July 29th

Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the 3nd annual “Be More Like Wade Scholarship” 5K Run/Walk will take place at the Montgomery Central Schools on Saturday, July 29th, 2017 in honor of Wade Morgan. Registration starts at 8:00am and the race is slated for 8:30am.
Tickets can be purchased online at ticketleap. Registration will also take place the day of the race.
All proceeds will be placed in the Scholarship Fund in Wade’s memory. Scholarships will be given to graduating Seniors at Montgomery Central High School who demonstrate similar characteristics of #bemorelikeWade.
Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department to hold Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 8th

Cunningham, TN – The Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Montgomery Central Middle School this Saturday, April 8th, 2017. There will be fun games beginning at 9:30am.

Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, February 25th, 2017, the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department will be having their Annual Chili Supper and cook off. It will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Montgomery Central Middle School.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to come enjoy a bowl of chili with cornbread, crackers, drink and dessert for $6.00.
2nd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5k run takes place Saturday, July 30th
