Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for Homeownership Program

Clarksville, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TN is accepting partner family applications for its homeownership program. Applications are available Monday – Friday during Affiliate office hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Applications are the first step towards homeownership allowing the family to demonstrate their willingness to partner though completing the application, financial capability to afford a no-interest mortgage, and need for suitable housing. Applicants are required to submit income verification, housing need, monthly debt and bill statements and other support information.
Habitat for Humanity, Sango United Methodist Church prepare for 2011 Scamper Road Race

Clarksville, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TN accepted a donation from the Sango United Methodist Church (UMC) and its proceeds from the 2010 Scamper Road Race. Habitat for Humanity has been the beneficiary of the Sango UMC event for approximately 20 years.
“We confidently say that Sango UMC has helped lay the foundation for every home we’ve built since 1992 and we’ll be there supporting the 21st annual Sango United Methodist Church Sango Scamper Road Race,” states Jennifer Kready, Executive Director.
Montgomery County Commissioner Charlie Keene to be on “Clarksville in Review”

Clarksville, TN – This Saturday on “Clarksville in Review”, join Hank Bonecutter and his guest, Charlie Keene, Montgomery County Commissioner and local Pharmacist, as they discuss synthetic drugs, and the county’s rejection of a synthetic drug resolution banning the sale of those products locally.
Then, Beatles author Nancy Lee Andrews will be discussing the Beatles, her book “A Dose of Rock n Roll” and events next week to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TN participates in World Habitat Day 2011

Clarksville, TN – In recognition of World Habitat Day 2011, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TN is planning to participate in the Habitat ReStore ‘ReCreate’ fall festival to address the need for decent housing around the world, including in Clarksville and Montgomery County.
The theme of World Habitat Day 2011 is “Housing cities after a disaster,” a serious and growing problem around the world. From Haiti and Japan to New Orleans and Memphis, urban areas face different and great challenges when responding to disasters. Habitat for Humanity ReStore Hosts First Annual ‘ReCreate’

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday October 8th, 2011, the Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery, TN ReStore will host its first annual ‘ReCreate’, a fall festival focusing on repurposed materials, particularly those found in the ReStore.
Local artists such as Shipley Potter, Dave Jenks, Gemini Dream Design, Doug Wilson, Heart Beaded Jewelry and more will have art for display and sale constructed of renewed and reused items.
