APSU’s Omicron Delta Kappa honor society recognized as one of the top two chapters in the nation

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa was selected as the 2013 recipient of the ODK Presidential Award of Excellence.
ODK is currently comprised of 314 chapters nationally (referred to as circles), and the APSU circle was one of only two nationally to be selected for this prestigious honor by the Omicron Delta Kappa Board of Directors. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced a number of publications, conferences and credentials as part of their professional and scholarly activities.
Chris Burawa, director of the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, has had several professional developments. He translated from Icelandic a short story by Óskar Magnússon, “Dr. Amplatz,” which will be published in Best European Fiction 2014 by Dalkey Archive Press. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced a number of publications, conferences and credentials as part of their professional and scholarly activities.
Dr. Sharon Mabry, professor of music, had her new book, “The Performing Life: A Singer’s Guide to Survival,” featured in the book review section of the latest Journal of the IAWM (International Alliance for Women in Music). The review listed her book as one of three recommended for reading. In addition, her book was noted in a review published in the Library Journal. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Three faculty and staff employees at Austin Peay State University recently achieved accolades in their scholarly and professional activities.
Dr. Thomas King, professor of music, sang the world premiere performance of Libby Larsen’s “I Cried unto the Lord with my Voice” at the Athena Women’s Music Festival held March 2nd at Murray (Ky.) State University. His wife, Dr. Vicki King, piano professor at Tennessee State University, had the song commissioned for his 65th birthday. [Read more]
