Working the Spirit Close to Home at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center

Clarksville, TN – Through July 31st, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is showcasing a rare exhibition of portraits by William Stamms Shackelford.
Brought together from various institutes and private collectors, the assortment of children, dogs, and patriarchs come to life against the dark hue of the Orgain Gallery. The portraits, some of which were done post-mortem, showcase the talent Shackelford had in bringing out the personality of the subject.

Clarksville, TN – Road closures for this week have been announced for the 14th Annual Rivers & Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville.
The Rivers & Spires Festival takes place April 14th-16th in downtown Clarksville. It is free and open to the public. The Festival features five stages of music and entertainment, arts and crafts, marketplace, food vendors and activities for all ages.

Clarksville, TN – Road closures for this week have been announced for the 12th Annual Rivers and Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville.
Some street closures will begin Wednesday, April 23rd. All street will be open again Sunday, April 27th by 7:00am.

APSU makes campus, public aware of road projects

Clarksville, TN – As Austin Peay State University prepares for the start of the 2011-12 academic year, the campus community and the public should be aware of the various city and campus construction projects to plan alternate routes to and from campus.
Near APSU, the intersection of North Second and College streets is closed while the Tennessee Department of Transportation continues sewer repairs. This is scheduled to last six to eight weeks. If driving to campus from Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, College Street can be accessed up to Fourth Street and Home Avenue.
