Austin Peay State University’s Woodward Library to screen “Paper Tigers” documentary for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

Clarksville, TN – In recognition of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Felix G. Woodward Library is partnering this week with Loaves and Fishes, the APSU Center for Service-Learning & Community Engagement and the APSU Department of Sociology to bring awareness to poverty on college campuses and identify resources that address basic needs for living, allowing students to focus on their studies.

Clarksville, TN – This April, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Woodward Library Society will host its annual Society Social, featuring author Michael Doubler.
The Society Social, a library friend-raising and fundraising dinner, is scheduled for Saturday, April 6th, 2019 in the Franklin Room of the F&M Bank in downtown Clarksville. Social hour begins at 5:30pm followed by a buffet dinner catered by the Party Station.

APSU’s Woodward Library Society hosts 10th Annual Society Social event

The Society Social, a fundraising and friend-raising dinner event, will begin at 5:30pm at F&M Bank’s Franklin Room in downtown Clarksville. A social hour will be followed by a dinner catered by Nicolleta’s Catering.

Clarksville, TN – Last week, The Felix G. Woodward Library celebrated the many contributions of the Woodward Library Society, a support organization for the Austin Peay State University library.
As part of the 12th annual National Friends of Libraries Week, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam signed a proclamation designating October 15th-21st, 2017, as Friends of Libraries Week in Tennessee.
APSU Woodward Library to host month-long exhibit, lecture and film series on World War I

Clarksville, TN – In February 1918, the U.S. Army 32nd Infantry Division, known as the “Red Arrow” because of the insignia worn on their shoulder sleeves, arrived in France to join in the fight on the Western Front, the main theatre of war during World War I.
Made primarily of Army National Guard units from Wisconsin and Michigan, the Red Arrow lived up to its name by successfully piercing enemy lines where other units failed.

Clarksville, TN – Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke, was a great many things during his life. A British statesman during the reigns of King William III and Queen Anne, Herbert served, at different times, as First Lord of the Admiralty, Lord High Admiral of the Royal Navy and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland.
In his private life, Herbert was also a prolific collector, amassing a vast array of, among other things, works of art and classical sculpture.
APSU, Woodward Library host exhibition on Lincoln and American Civil War

Clarksville, TN – In honor of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, the Felix G. Woodward Library at Austin Peay State University is hosting an exhibition, titled “Lincoln: the Constitution and the Civil War.”
On display from September 4th through October 15th, the exhibition will celebrate its grand opening on Tuesday, September 8th at 3:00pm in the Woodward Library. APSU President Dr. Alisa White and Woodward Library Director Joe Weber will perform the ribbon cutting ceremony. [Read more]
